What is the CNC Machinist Technician program?

This program provides training in CNC milling, lathe operation, and CAD/CAM applications, with an emphasis on hands-on experience using Fanuc and Siemens controls. Students learn industry-aligned workflows that prepare them for immediate employment.

How long is the CNC Machinist Technician program?

The CNC Machinist Technician program runs for 23 weeks (630 hours) on a full-time basis. Part-time and evening options may be available.

What are the admission requirements?

Applicants generally require a Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
If you are 18 or older without Grade 12, you may qualify by completing a basic skills assessment test.

Yes — there is a $100 non-refundable application fee.

Are there specific start dates for programs?

Yes — new intakes are available monthly. Please contact our admissions team for the next available start date.

Is hands-on training included?

Absolutely! Our programs focus on practical, hands-on learning with CNC mills, lathes, CAD/CAM labs, and a 5-axis mill, ensuring graduates are job-ready.

Are career services available? Internships or placements?

Yes — IMTT provides:

While we cannot guarantee employment, many students secure jobs through our employer network.

Can I study while working (evening or part-time)?

Yes — IMTT offers flexible scheduling options, including part-time and evening classes, designed to accommodate working students.

Is there a student portal?

Yes — IMTT uses Moodle as the Student Portal for select programs. Students enrolled in these programs can access learning materials, assignments, announcements, and grades online. For other programs, course resources and updates are provided directly by instructors.

Are programs ministry-approved or accredited?

Yes — as a registered private career college, all IMTT programs comply with the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities’ quality standards.

Are certificates provided upon graduation?

Yes — graduates receive a certificate or diploma, depending on the program completed.

Are the programs recognized by employers?

All programs are taught in English. Support is available to help students improve technical communication and comprehension skills.
